Split-Buffalo Horns Ermine Headdress
This museum quality headdress is made with split buffalo horns attached to a buffalo hide cap. The bonnet is covered with hundres's of strips of winter ermine pelts, 20 ermines are attached around the edge of the hat, a beaded headband is sewn to the front. The horns are decorated with horse hair and split feathers,The long plume at the peak of the headdress is decorated with porcupine quills. Hanging from the back is a long buckskin trailer with 38 painted eagle feathes, and rattles of carved deer hooves.
