Sweetgrass Soap
Sweet Grass is one of the four sacred plants given to Aboriginal people and represents the northern direction of the Medicine Wheel. It is used as a ceremonial smudge allowing us to communicate with the Spirit World, carrying our prayers to the Creator. Sweetgrass represents the hair of Mother Earth and is braided to signify unity between the physical, mental and spiritual. The sweet aromatic essence has been long sought after and was thought to soothe the emotions and calm the nerves. Sweetgrass, found throughout Canada, has many medicinal uses, such as preventing hair loss and treating dry, chapped skin.
